My mother (Ann C. Rogers) is holding me in the backyard of our house on Goethe (in South St. Louis)
My mother is the girl in the middle. She and her two friends are standing outside of the St. Alphonsus "Rock" Church. Ann attended both grade school and high school at the "Rock" Church School and greatly enjoyed her years there.
Ann (in her early twenties) with her niece, Mary Claire. Mary Claire is one of the four children of Ann's brother, Jim Kearns, and her sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth.
In this photo, my Aunt Helen (one of my father's three sisters) is standing with my Uncle Vincent (one my father's two brothers) in front of the grocery store that my grandfather owned in North St. Louis near Sportsman's Park (the old baseball stadium). Aunt Helen is an Our Lady of Victory Missionary sister.
Aunt Helen served the poor as a nun in Denver for many years before retiring to her order's motherhouse in Victory Noll, Indiana.
