Once Upon a Time

Once there was a little cat
Who liked to wear a sailor hat.
Although he never went to sea,
He looked as cute as cute can be.

Once there was a silly cow
Who only wished to say "Bow wow!"
She thought it more elegant than "Moo."
Her best friend, a dog, thought so too!

Once there was a funny calf;
He loved to joke, and he loved to laugh.
When he told a good joke, the cows would MOO.
When the joke was bad, the MOO turned to BOO!

Once there was a little drake
Who enjoyed swimming in the lake,
But when the water turned to ice,
He did not think that was very nice!

Once there was a silly canary
Who was asked by the Good Fairy,
"Do you want to leave this cage?"
"No," she said, "It's a condo; they're all the rage!"

Once there was a proud young elf
Who thought quite highly of himself;
He wore a crown, and he strutted around
And acted like he was a King,
But it really didn't mean a thing.

His brother was wiser elf
Who always put others ahead of himself.
This elf was a teacher at Grasshopper School;
He taught 23 grasshoppers the Golden Rule.
